Racz believes the merger will be a good partnership. “I think it makes perfect sense in today’s changing environment that we can do more together than we can separately to build God’s kingdom,” he said. “What I find most gratifying is that there will be more staff and resources available to serve the churches and institutions in South Georgia than ever before. Good examples are opportunities to participate in the loan program, development fund program and to receive assistance with capital campaigns.” The Foundation exists to partner with churches and agencies within the North and South Georgia Conferences. “One of the things I do in preaching and speaking is to create awareness of the ministries that are out there, and explain how people can help financially support those ministries,” Racz said. Racz’s office is in Savannah, Georgia, where he and his wife, Ginny, currently reside. Their three children include Katy Jeanne, Ben and Sam. In his spare time, Racz enjoys sailing, fishing and golfing. |
January 2010 the Rev. Wayne Racz became the Georgia United Methodist Foundation’s senior vice president. Prior to the merger between the North and South Georgia Foundations, Racz served as executive director of The South Georgia United Methodist Foundation since 2006.
