“Abraham left everything he owned to Isaac.” - Genesis 25:5

TIP #1: Create or update your will
Did you know that the concept of a “Last Will and Testament” dates back to Biblical times when Abraham left everything he owned to his son Isaac? Regardless of your age or net worth, the New Year is the perfect time to create or update your will and powers of attorney. Maybe you have gotten married, been blessed with the birth or adoption of a child or grandchild, or moved to a new address. The Georgia United Methodist Foundation offers several online resources such as a Wills Planner, Healthcare Directive, and Estate Planning Organizer to help you provide for your family and the causes you care about. “Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” - Philippians 2:4

TIP #2: Sustain the church’s mission in perpetuity
In 2017, hurricanes, floods, wildfires, droughts, landslides, and famine rocked our world. At times we felt powerless while waiting to learn ways we could help. The good news is that you can do something now to aid future victims of disaster relief. The Georgia United Methodist Foundation can help you set up an endowment to sustain the church’s mission and the causes that are close to your heart. An endowment is a fund that is invested to create a permanent source of income. For more information on how you can provide financial support in perpetuity, please contact GUMF at 770-449-6726, 877-220-5664 or or visit

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” - Mark 10:45

TIP #3: Start fresh
Welcome to 2018! Now that the holiday hustle and bustle has slowed down, and we've turned the page to a New Year, it's time to start fresh. Consider this: How do you fit into God's plan for the church this year? Perhaps you've been wanting to volunteer, get involved in a new ministry, or maybe sing in the choir. Now is a perfect time! If you have less time to volunteer, consider making a gift to support a ministry at the church that you care about most. To get more information on how to help fulfill your charitable goals, please contact the church or the Georgia United Methodist Foundation at 770-449-6726, 877-220-5664 or or visit today.
