Something to Think About with Keith Lawder and Steve Waldorf 1/8/18 Devotion
“And a voice came from heaven: You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” – Mark 1:11
From our birth until our dying day, we want to be loved, and we want to be pleasing to others. I can still remember instances as a little child of wanting affirmation and assurance that I was someone special. There are many around us who have never been affirmed. As a society, we seem to be focusing on ourselves more and more. I believe that Jesus wants others to experience that security of being “well pleased” by someone in their lives. What if we begin an effort in this New Year to smile as we pass someone, love on someone who is lonely, be pleasing to someone who is not so pleasing to be around? How else can we really witness to those who have never experienced the love and forgiveness of God?
