Matching Scholarship from Burns UMC Blesses Family
Zamoria Simpson, Senior
Master of Theological Studies
Candler School of Theology, Atlanta
Burns UMC, Newnan
For most of my higher education, there have been three members of my household also enrolled at universities. With such a big financial commitment, all of the United Methodist scholarships have made it possible for me to continue my education with less stress on my family.
Each scholarship has played a huge factor in my being able to graduate from Wesleyan College and pursue my Master of Theological Studies at Candler School of Theology. The United Methodist Dollars for Scholars scholarships have truly been a blessing to my family. Coupled with the emotional and financial support from my church, Burns UMC, and a school that works closely with me to find all financial opportunities available, I am one blessed woman!
I plan to use my education to further my personal relationship with Christ and encourage others to do the same. My education has truly allowed me to feel God’s presence in any and everything that I desire to do in this life. I have always felt called to help marginalized communities overcome the barriers they (we) face, and I continue to receive affirmation that I am supposed to do just that. God is leading and guiding me in unconventional ways to unconventional ministries, and I couldn’t be more excited about the mystery and security of following Him!
