Something to Think About 12-2-19
“O come, O come, Emanuel, and ransom captive Israel, that mourns in lowly exile here until the Son of God appear.” – The United Methodist Hymnal, No. 211
The days indeed were dark in Israel before Jesus’ birth. The words of this hymn come from another dark time, the seventh century. In this season of Advent, which means “coming,” may we join with the faithful from across the ages who earnestly pray for the coming of the Messiah!
